4th of July picnic

Yep, we do celebrate 4th of July even in Brasil!:)

We got together with the Doolittles, Rhaels and Pintos for a late afternoon/ early evening picnic yesterday.

Our ever creative Mom gave us americans* a 34 question test on American history. (* Or as someone called himself after correcting his test; - "a poor excuse of an American") :-)

Please DON'T ask our scores. We were pretty pitiful! (Editor's note - some more than others!)

Alex did a great job grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs.

Let the party begin! The food was great!

Kevin enjoying his hamburger.

And here is what our sweet Jeni made for dessert...

Cheesecake with strawberrys on top! We also had S'mores:)

After it got plenty dark outside, we had our own grand (uh um-- well, maybe not that grand) firework show!

We couldn't get good pics of the fireworks, so this one of the three umm, what do you call them - firemen?! or wack-o's having fun, and treating us to some fun, too!

And for a little bonus...!
Earlier in the day, we walked up to the main part of camp and got some pictures of "the sistahs" in the matching skirts we made.

Our "soldier" guy!

Jess and Alex. (By the way, this was Alex's first time to an all-american picnic like this! We had fun trying to convince him to eat baked-beans, deviled eggs, or horse-radish.) :-)
