Family Trip - Part Two

Saturday the 14th was the ordination and "sending" service of Isaias(now Pastor Isaias) and Rachel Divino, some dear friends of ours. They are missionaries to the unreached indians of the Amazon, Brazil. We always have such a great time together and we were so happy that we could be with them on this special day. The ordination was held at their sending church in Sao Joaquim da Barra, Sao Paulo.

The lovely couple

We arrived on Friday night and stayed with Pastor Jose Mauro and his family, who pastor the Igreja Batista Independente there in Sao Joaquim. They graciously opened up their home to us, and we are so grateful and blessed by the time spent together.

We "younger people" went out for ice-cream that night, and we had such a fun time catching up with each other.

On Saturday we had several periods of fellowship and meeting new people

During the examination part, the pastor's wives and young people gathered and played a Bible memory game - it was so much fun!

The service was later in the evening. It was very beautiful and a special time for all, although there were few dry eyes by the end of the night!

Isaias and Rachel sang a special missionary song, and later Rachel surprised him by going up and singng a special song for him - it was so lovely! It was acutally a wedding song, but it fit perfectly with the ocasion, too; it was a sort of a life pledge. We girls were all crying by then!

On Sunday, Dad preached the morning service there in Sao Joaquim.
We said good-bye to everyone then and embarked on our last leg of the trip...coming soon!
