As we are approaching the Fourth of July holiday or as it is also known, "Independence Day," let us not forget that our independence as a people came when Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins. That was freedom given by the most ultimate sacrifice known to mankind.
Over the years there have always been many battles being fought to preserve our independence or freedom. Of those past wars, I think of World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, in which we are engaged, that attest to the fact that we are still fighting to keep our independence as a nation created by the Lord Jesus Christ.
On July 4th as you sit down with your family and friends to enjoy a great cookout of bar-b-que, hamburgers, hotdogs and all the trimmings, please do 5 things:
Thank God for your freedom!
Pray for our nation!
Pray for those men and women who have fought and are fighting for our freedom!
Pray for those families of the soldiers who have gave their lives serving this great country!
Finally, gather your family and friends and recite the
Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem!
HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE
FOURTH OF JULY
