Trip to Texas

The trip to Texas from North Carolina was a long one! We went through South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and then clear across Texas on the way over. It was 2 full days of driving each way.

We almost got lost in Dallas as the GPS was not updated!
On Sunday, May 1st, we had the privilege of being with the dear people of Calvary Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas!

Pastor Jeremy Gilbert was away on vacation, but the people couldn't have been more loving! This church has supported us for many years. We especially want to thank the Jeskey, Nash and Greenhaw Families for their loving hospitality.
The plains of Texas are beautiful any time of the day....but especially at sunset!

On the way back we stopped at a rest area that had a big warning sign on entrance that said "Watch out for Snakes!" We thought we had left those in Brazil! Then there was this sign near the restrooms!
When you looked at the surrounding you can understand why the warnings! Looks like rattlesnake country to me!
On the return trip we went Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and home to North Carolina! A long trip, but so worth it for the love and encouragement shown by the people there!

Greetings family, I have enjoyed traveling with you in your blog, and seeing all the family and activities and the grand baby. Oh yes--I got a new one just yesterday May 26th, 16th great grand, 10th girl. But that is about me, and I want to talk about you. I have been filing prayer letters today and making notes about what to share with our SS Class so we can pray. I am so thankful that the Lord has met your needs in such delightful ways. We can always count on Him. I was interested to see that you are a 2nd generation missionary, Lawanda. What a great heritage that is for your children. At Lupton Drive Baptist Church here in TN we just had a week of revival meetings, the preachers were a father and his 4 sons, all preachers. What a great legacy they have to forward to their progeny. God bless you, thank you for sharing your lives with me by prayer letter and email.
